Raise yuir hand if you heard at least one Pogues song yesterday!

Irishmen singing about drinking!
For some reason, it seemed appropriate today!

-edit- Never mind! Guess it was copyrighted...
-edit the second- And now its back up again? huh?
[livejournal.com profile] ugali has given me permission to drunk dial people this evening.
You have all been warned!
I direct you all over to [livejournal.com profile] auroracita's journal, where she has taken [livejournal.com profile] colubra's game of authors and titles, and applied it to bands and song titles.

Much fun and time wasting for a Friday afternoon!
Comment here and I will post a favorite memory of you.
Repeat in your own journal, or not. Totally up to you.

[livejournal.com profile] ugali and figure out where we want to take the car, get in touch with a tow truck driver. Pay $75 to tow the car five blocks...

Get into the repair place, am told they won't be able to look at it until later today. Give them my keys. Begin the ten or so block walk home. Get home. Realize the house key (wait for it) is still on the ring with the car key. Try the back door, just in case. Yup, I locked it!

Start the trek back to the car place. Get about 7 blocks before I think "The garage was unlocked. I could have grabbed my bike." It begins to rain. (only lightly though)

Finally get back the keys, walk back home. The entire thing only took three hours. Now I wait to hear what's wrong with the car.

Of course, now we don't think we have the money for Gulf Wars. But, at least [livejournal.com profile] ugali found out we can still change the tickets.

UGH.
Hmm....wonder what I could do with the idea of a Pine Cove LARP...
So Winamp brings up Nanci Griffith's Beautiful Love at the Five and Dime, a beautiful song that I love, but always makes me a little maudlin.

So how does Winamp tell me to snap out of it?

Follows it up with the Red Elvises Sad Cowboy Song!

Bernard Black.
Hero of the People.

Which People, I'm not quite sure.
There has to be somebody on my Flist who knows something about Rai, a genre of music I like but know far too little about.

To that/those people, I pose the following question; besides Khaled and Rachid Taha, who should I be listening to? Are the specific tracks I need to hear by those artists?

Thanks in advance!
Paging [livejournal.com profile] wurmfood.

Are you still alive?
Hey computer types who are hunting for work!
My friend [livejournal.com profile] limen is looking for a lead softwear applications developer for a major university.

Don't instantly freak when I mention that its Texas A&M; there are quite a few redeeming factors, not the least of which would be a rather cool boss. Go check out the posting on his journal, and get in touch with him!
FRACKERMONKEY!!!
There are few things as rewarding as making chicken soup from scratch.

Eating homemade chicken soup is one of them. Of course, this is usually a byproduct of making the chicken soup to begin with.

Tonight, we dine on homemade chicken soup!
I am now able to refer to myself as "SeaLion Pursuivant."
Gotta love those Heraldic titles.
right.
Who can walk a computer idiot through LJdump?

edit - found LJ book.

The huge backup of 2009 has begun!
Yes, that icon sums up my year.
2008, I tried to fire you back in February. Unfortunately, you had a really good collective bargaining agreement, and I was stuck with you.

2009, I embrace you wholeheartedly. Regardless of what you bring, I have a decent ammount of certainty that a semi and a fall off a large cliff will not be there.
So bring it.
I'm ready. I welcome what you have to offer.

2008, let me just state one last time that you're fired. Good riddance.

Oh, and the moral to the story? ALWAYS TAKE THE UHAUL INSURANCE!
